Zimbabwe (pronounced /zɪmˈbɑːbweɪ/), (officially the Republic of Zimbabwe and formerly Southern Rhodesia, the Republic of Rhodesia and Zimbabwe Rhodesia) is a landlocked country located in the southern part of the continent of Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers. It is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the southwest, Zambia to the northwest and Mozambique to the east. Zimbabwe has three official languages; English, Shona, and Ndebele.
Religion in Zimbabwe[]
Christianity is the religion of 85% of Zimbabweans, the most popular denominations are Roman Catholicism, Anglicanism the Seventh-day Adventist Church and Methodism.
Islam is followed by 1% of Zimbabweans. Most of the rest of the people of Zimbabwe follow indigenous African beliefs in which veneration of the dead is very important. About 0.1% of Zimbabwe's inhabitants are Buddhists.
