The list can get really sticky. Are we speaking of God only in a monotheistic, Creator sense? If so, what of other gods? If not, just how long do we want this list to be, anyway? -- SwissCelt 05:44, 11 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Maybe we should have to different articles. One for the monotheistic, Creator sense (called God) and one for listings of all gods (called Gods). Would that be better? Otherwise, we get a really huge list of Gods here. We could also think about the difference of God (as in the name God - with other translations of the same name, a.k.a. Allah) and God (as in a "god"). I should think we could do like this, then:
Under God we put the information about gods with the name God (in any language, a.k.a. Allah, etc). In this article Oden, for example, doesn't fit. However: We put at the first row a meaning somewhat like: "This article is about the god God. For the meaning of the word "god", see God (meaning). For list of gods, see Gods." Shouldn't we be working on cleaning this article up? I'd suggest that, instead of discussing monotheistic deities, the article should talk about the concept of deity itself and cite examples from various monotheistic and polytheistic religions. In order to prevent the likes of Tyluthan's God being thrown in with major religions, I'd also suggest that the article have a separate section for God in constructed religion (or have an independent article alltogether for the Constructed Religions category). I made a disambig page from god. there are several point of view articles about god. concerning those constructed article gods that is not allowed in this article and should only placed in the constructed articles.--Friso Yoyon Schaap(Talk) • (Religion Wiki Administrator) 01:22, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
