Shaheedi Guru Arjan Sahib is the annual commemoration of the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Sahib, the fifth Guru. The commemoration falls on 2 Harh, which is 16 June, the date of Guru Arjan's death in the prison of the Mughal Emperor Jehangir in 1606. A few days before his death, Guru Arjan's son Guru Hargobind Sahib was installed as his successor.
