Everyone, Religious and non-religious alike, is welcomed at Religion Wiki. We have some basic guidelines to keep everything running smoothly around here, and in order to make our approach to user matters more explicit.

create a user name -- it helps you (and everybody) keep track of your contributions, and it makes it possible to communicate with other contributors.

You're also invited to post your name on your user page -- either your full name, or just a first name and an initial. It's not required, but it helps everyone get to know you and trust you.

The Information We Collect, And What We Do With It

Concerning the Wikia accounts on the wiki's In order to sign up for a Wikia account, only your username, password, and date of birth are required. An email address is also requested during sign-up. “Optional information” that we request you provide may include your first name, last name, and your gender. We may also request that you provide additional “optional information” such as your interests and hobbies for purposes of enhancing your profile among the Wikia community. Any “optional information” you choose to provide may be made public. We use this information to improve your experience with the Service, including the proper targeting of advertisements.

Wikia also may send one or more cookies - a small file that lives in your web browser that helps the Service operate with full functionality (such as keeping you logged into the service). Most web browsers allow you to disable cookies, and you are welcome to continue to use the Service if you choose to do so. However, some of the Service's features may not function properly if cookies are disabled. Wikia uses some of those cookies and the data tracked by some of those cookies in conjunction with various advertisers and advertising networks. Wikia has no control over the cookies and other information collected by advertising and advertising networks which service ads on Wikia, and this policy does not apply to the information collected in regard to either of those services.

Wikia's user data is stored in the United States, and its servers log some information whenever you access the Service; information such as your IP address, the time of your visit, your browser type and your browser's language setting.

If you send a communication to the Company, we may hold onto that communication so that we can respond appropriately, and so that we can incorporate your feedback to improve the Service.

You are not required to register for an account or to provide any personal information to us in order to use the Service.

Wikia collects all the information you provide when you modify the content of a page or the Service (such as making edits, uploading images, etc.) An indicator that you provided that information is left on the History tab associated with the edited page or appropriate special/image page; on the Recent Changes link, in the Community box on the left side of the wiki pages, and in your user contributions.

User names

Please be sensitive to the community when choosing a user name. Names which may be offensive, particularly if they have no associated email address or edit history, may simply be changed. If this happens to you, and you're here for a constructive purpose, just create a new account.

User Pages

User pages offer an opportunity for self-expression. Religion Wiki allows a great deal of freedom in terms of what may be posted on user pages.

Of course, we will censor any kind of pornography, blasphemy, or deception, and anything that will get us in legal trouble.

Likewise anything that offends against the community here will be censored. The final arbiter in controversial cases are the Global Administrators.

No Duplicate Accounts

Except in exceptional circumstances with permission from the Global Administrator group, users are only allowed one account. If you've opened more than one, it's not a big deal. Just let us know which one you'd like to continue using and we'll block the other one. Let us know if you think you should qualify for an exemption to this rule.

Show your sources

Other readers should be able to verify the information that you post. Cite episode numbers wherever possible, and give sources for quotes. If you find information in a book or on a website, tell us the title or the URL. If it's clumsy to put that information in the article, then add a "References" heading at the bottom of the page. It's especially important to source behind the scenes information; we don't want to spread unfounded rumors.

In the event questionable information appears in a particular article, place the citation needed tag after the appropriate text in such a way that the notation's inclusion is clear as to what needs to be cited. This will automatically place the article in the Citations needed category.

User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Harass members of the Service;
  • Use the Service in any unlawful manner or in any other manner which could damage, impair, or overburden the site;

Submitting Content to the Site and Copyrights

You are solely responsible for the content, including but not limited to photos, profiles information, messages, search results edits, and other content that you upload, publish or display (hereinafter, "submit") on or through the Service, or transmit to or share with other users. You are solely responsible at your sole cost and expense for creating backup copies and replacing any content you post or store on the Service or provide to the Company.
