- James R Ivie (1802-1866) - Veteran of Zions Camp, marched in Mormon Battalion in the place of his son and later a participant in the Black Hawk War.

- Lt Henry W Jackson (1827-1864) - musician in Co D of Mormon Battalion, who went on to become Utah's only known casualty in the US Civil War.
Johnson[]
- John Johnson (1779-1843) - AKA: Father Johnson, proprietor of the John Johnson Farm in Hiram OH, home of the prophet Joseph Smith and site of many key events in the early history of the church.
- Luke Johnson (1807-1881) - Early LDS Apostle and Utah pioneer
- Lyman Johnson (1811-1859) - Early LDS Apostle, later apostacized from church.
