- 1054. The Great Schism between the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church. Legates from Rome place a bull of excommunication on the altar of the Hagia Sophia church.
- 2007. At their 63rd regular convention, The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod declares themselves to be in full fellowship with the American Association of Lutheran Churches.
