The Ishmaelites (Hebrew: יִשְׁמְעֵאלִיםYīšməʿēʾlīm, Arabic: بَنِي إِسْمَاعِيل Bani Isma'il; "sons of Ishmael") were a tribal confederation of Iron Age Semitic-speaking tribes of the ancient Near East, which inhabited mostly in western Arabia.
