Baptist Church[]

Baptists form a major branch of Protestant Christianity distinguished by baptizing professing Christian believers only, and doing so by complete immersion. Historians trace the earliest "Baptist" church to 1609 in Amsterdam, Dutch Republic with English Separatist John Smyth as its pastor.

Calvary Chapel[]

Calvary Chapel, an association of evangelical Christian churches, maintains a number of radio stations around the world and operates many local Calvary Chapel Bible College programs. Beginning in 1965 in Southern California, this fellowship of churches grew out of Chuck Smith's Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.

You will feel His love for you as you seek to understand His life and teachings."[1] This church was founded by their first prophet Joseph Smith in 1830 upstate New York and now has over 16 million members organized into 3300+ "stakes" worldwide. There are several stakes in the local area. (Also referred to as LDS Church or Mormon Church.)

The Methodist movement is a group of historically related denominations of Protestant Christianity.

The United Church of Christ is a historical continuation of the General Council of Congregational Christian churches founded under the influence of New England Pilgrims and Puritans. It traces its roots to the first pilgrim congregation founded in London in 1616.

Buddhism[]

Buddhism is the world's fourth-largest religion with over 520 million followers, known as Buddhists. Buddhism encompasses a variety of traditions, beliefs and spiritual practices largely based on original teachings attributed to the Buddha and resulting interpreted philosophies.

Hinduism is an Indian religion and dharma, or way of life. It is the world's third-largest religion, with over 1.25 billion followers, known as Hindus. It includes a range of philosophies, and is linked by shared concepts, recognisable rituals, cosmology, pilgrimage to sacred sites and shared textual resources that discuss theology, philosophy, mythology, Vedic yajna, yoga, agamic rituals, and temple building, among other topics.

Judaism[]

Judaism is an ethnic religion comprising the collective religious, cultural, and legal tradition and civilization of the Jewish people. Judaism is considered by religious Jews to be the expression of the covenant that God established with the Children of Israel.

  • Chabad of Chula Vista - Chabad-Lubavitch is a philosophy, a movement, and an organization. It is considered to be the most dynamic force in Jewish life today.
  • Temple Beth Shalom (Chula Vista) - A culturally diverse congregation that has served the religious and cultural needs of Jews in the South Bay area since 1958. Ashkenazic and Sephardic, those whose grandparents came from Europe and those whose families are from south of the border.

The objectives of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) are referred to as the Aims of Scouting: Character, Citizenship, Personal Fitness, Leadership.
