Blessed Olive is a legendary Christianmartyr of the Catholic Church. According to legend, Olive was a beautiful girl of thirteen, of a noble Palermo, Italy family who was carried off to Tunis by raiding Muslims. They allowed her to live in a nearby cave, but when she was discovered to have been working to convert the locals to Christianity, she was imprisoned, tortured, and, after the conversion of some of her executioners, was finally martyred by beheading. Doves are said to have flown from her bleeding neck. Her feast day is June 10.
