Antigua and Barbuda (Spanish for "Ancient" and "Bearded") is an island nation located on the eastern boundary of the Caribbean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean. As its name suggests, it consists of two major islands; Antigua (pronounced /ænˈtiːɡə/) and Barbuda (/bɑrˈbjuːdə/) – as well as a number of smaller islets. All are close neighbours within the middle of the Leeward Islands and roughly 17 degrees north of the equator.
Religion in Antigua and Barbuda[]
The majority of the people of Antigua and Barbuda, 74% of the population, are Christians. The most popular Christian denomination is Anglicanism, followed by 44% of the population. There are smaller groups of Catholics, Baptists and Presbyterians.
Minority religions in the country include Islam, Judaism, the Baha'i Faith and the Rastafari movement.About 0.5% of the people of Antigua and Barbuda are Buddhists.
